Make a card in less than 5 minutes!

This an easy- stamp as you're running out the door card. It uses the grass from Inspired by Nature (it's not in the catalog, but you can still order it from the dormant list--I'm hoping this makes it back into the upcoming catalog). The eggs are punched from Baja Breeze Designer paper with the Wide Oval Punch. Then I used a Jumbo eyelet, some Baja Breeze striped grosgrain ribbon and some natural twine. Easy, peasy!

Hoot Hoot Hooray Birthday card

This is a card that uses To the Nines designer series paper. I love that it is masculine and has my favorite earth tone colors :) I used the set Owl Together which is a favorite of my daughter because it has owls. Something she loves. Hope you enjoy the card :)

HOPE Card with Shaving Cream Technique

My husband has been sending HOPE cards to a lady (who is like a mother to him) to encourage her as her MS symptoms increase. So, I always use the same stamp for the card but try to make it look different. This week I made one with an extra sheet of my shaving cream technique papers. He really liked how it turned out and declared it my best HOPE card. I don't know about that, but I'll take it ;-)

New Blog Look & Shaving Cream Technique

I spent a few minutes yesterday changing the look on my blog. I really love how it looks. So spring-like! I hope the new decorations don't slow down the load time.

I want to share with you today the Shaving Cream Technique. I used it on a couple of cards last week. And I have a new card tomorrow to show you that my husband thinks is my best HOPE card yet :) I hope you enjoy seeing this technique in action.

Top Note Quilted Card

This is a card that I have been looking forward to making. I've seen it around on several blogs and have no idea who originated it to give proper credit. I first saw it on Diana Gibbs blog. It's made using the Top Note die and a texture plate in the Big Shot. First you take a piece of 4 x 5.25 in. white cardstock and cover it with 1.25 inch pieces of designer series paper punched with our 1.25 in square punch. Run that decorated piece of paper through the Big Shot with the Top Note die. Remove your image and adhere it to a piece of matching 4 x 5.25 cardstock. Run that through the Big Shot using the texture plate of your choice. Now, adhere to the cardfront and add a sentiment :) I used the Curly Label punch and the Cute and Curly stamp set for my sentiment. Then I used a flower from the Boho Blossoms punch. I used the Basic Gray marker to draw faux stitching. I love quick and easy cards. This one took a bit more time, but it's worth it :)

Pun Fun Birthday Card

This is a birthday card I made for my nephew. I just got the Pun Fun set and I'm having soo much fun with it. I used the watercolor crayons and a blender pen to color the image and I used the star wheel for the back ground on Tangerine Tango and star punches. It's my first card with this image. I think I'll be making more because it's such a fun set :)

Inspired by Nature meets the chalkboard technique

We made this card at Debra's party last night. I love this stamp set, Inspired By Nature. It looks good however you use it and is so versatile. It's not in the catalog but it still available to order.

Doesn't it look great with the chalkboard technique? When I've done this card before, people thought the image was painted. LOL!! It's actually a super quick and easy card.

The chalkboard technique is simple but there are a couple of hints to be successful. To do the chalkboard technique you need a piece of dark cardstock andwhisper white craft ink. After you stamp your image in the white craft ink, you chalk up a sponge dauber and lightly tap onto the colored chalk onto the white craft ink. DO NOT RUB THE DAUBER OR TAP HARD as this will ground the chalk into the paper. When you are done chalking up your image, blow off the extra chalk. I also like to use a flat soft paintbrush to brush away the extra chalk. If there is a haze around your image, lightly rub your fingers on the cardstock to remove any haze (the slight oil/moisture from your hands will remove that last bit).

Eastern Blooms Birthday Card

Can you tell I love blue and green combos :) I had this Green Tea paper left over from the Fall & Winter catalog and it matches the Eastern Blooms stamp set, so I decided to use it for this card. I has my favorite colors in it Baja Breeze, Old Olive, and Certainly Celery. You might have noticed that the flower is embossed in Baja Breeze. You might wonder how I did that since Baja Breeze only comes in Classic ink.

Here's how to emboss with Class ink pad and a Versamark pad. First ink up your stamp in Versamark and then without stamping it on paper, ink it up in the classic color of your choice. NOW stamp onto your paper. This will make your ink wet enough to emboss. Just make sure you clean that stamp before reinking it in the Versamark :)

SAB- Botanical Blooms

Last night I finally got some time to play with my stamps. These are two cards I made using the Sale-abration set Botanical Blooms, Congratulations, and Flight of the Butterfly.

The first card uses Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze ink and cardstock. I love how it turned out. I CASED it from this card :) http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1270769?cat=15703

The second card is done in Lovely Lavendar and So Saffron. It uses so many SAB items. The designer series paper Lots of Dots, the grosgrain so saffron ribbon, and two stamp sets from SAB. I love how this turned out. It's also a CASED card from my upline. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1278411?cat=15703

This last card will be going to my friend who just had a baby girl. We went to the hospital last night to see them. And I got to hold the 12 hour hold baby. My heart melted!!! She's sooo sweet.

I hope you enjoy these cards :) If you have any questions, just let me know and I'll try to answer them.

Shaving Cream Technique cards

These are some cards I made using the shaving cream technique. I will try to do a video tutorial on this at a later date. I used cheap shaving cream on a plastic plate. Dropped Baja Breeze reinker, Old Olive reinker, and Not Quite Navy reinker into the shaving cream and swirled with a knife. I pressed whisper white cardstock into it and then wiped off the shaving cream and let dry for a few minutes. I really like the effect. Hope you do too :)

Baby Shower Invitations Using Punches

These are the baby shower invitations I made for the showering we're having for the pastor's wife. These are just regular 4.25 x 5.5 invitation size cards. I used the 1.25 inch circle punch to punch out the neck and legs. And I used the craft knife to cut the arms and sides of the onsie. To make the blue edges of the onsie, I punched a 1.25 inch circle in blue cardstock and then used the 1 3/8in circle punch centered around the hole. This makes a blue circle ring. I then glued it to the edges and trimmed as needed. I cut 1/4" wide strips to make the edging on the arms. Then I used the white gel pen to make faux stitching. I used the large star punch for decoration. Hope you enjoy it

Sale-a-bration Easter Pull Card

This is a pull card for a 3 oz. Ghiradelli chocolate bar. I used certainly celery cardstock and certainly celery ink with the Polka Dot Punches stamp set to create the base. The belly band is Pink Pirouette cardstock and Saleabration Lots of Dots DSP. The ribbon I used is the Certainly Celery Saleabration twill ribbon. I used all SU punches to create the rabbit. If you need more details, email me :)

Baby Lamb card and paperbag album

Just a quick post today because things are still busy here, plus I'm recovering from being sick for 2 weeks (and now am nursing my sick dd). Anyway, remember how I said my friends are all getting pregnant?? Well, Friday was a baby shower for one of my friends. Part of my present to her was this paperbag album and matching card. I used SAB certainly celery ribbon, the top note die, the grass stamp from Inspired by Nature, and the scallop circle and 5 petal flower punch (to create the lamb). The rest is a hodge podge of stuff I already owned before joining Stampin' UP. I hope you enjoy it. Sorry I didn't get more pictures of the inside and all the tags. I took this picture as I was walking out the door! I'm such a procrastinator!! Tomorrow I'll share pictures of the Baby Shower invitations I made for another friend. Take Care!
