Scallop Flower Birthday Card

Today, I thought I'd show you how to make the scalloped flower birthday card I posted earlier. This is almost like the card I showed in my last post, except I used last year's in colors. I really like this card. It's surprising how quick it is. These flowers aren't just great for cards, but you can use them to decorate a small gift box or gift bag.

I'll see you tomorrow with something new :)

Layered Scalloped Flower Birthday Card

Hey,everyone!! This is just a quick post of a card I made a while ago. I think I showed it in a video on making another type of paper flower. I will be making a video of this card next week. It's really easy and fun. These flowers are addictive.

I'm enjoying my son. It's soo good to have him back home, even though it's just for a week. :)

Tonight is the midnight showing of Johnny Depp's Alice in Wonderland. My daughter is having an Alice in Wonderland tea party beforehand with some friends and then going for the midnight showing and my son is meeting some friends there tonight too. I've got a lot of things to get done before the girls come!!

Have a great day!!

Easter Chick punch art card

Hey, everyone!!

I've been waiting to make this card for a week now, but I had to get some yellow feathers first!! If I'd had a yellow feather duster, I would have plucked a few and made it immediately!! I finally sat down and made it this morning.

I really like how it turned out. Except you can't see the edge of the punched grass, cuz' this guy's feathers are just too fluffy--LOL! But it was a surprisingly easy card to make.

I didn't make a video today because I have a lot to do today :) My son is coming home from college for spring break. He'll be here for the next 10 days. I probably won't make any videos during that time. But I'll probably still make it up into my stamp room here and there. When I do, I'll post pictures of what I make :)

If you want a video for this card, let me know and I'll film it after spring break.

Until then, here is what I used.
PUNCHES- wide oval, scallop edge (for grass), modern label, word window, Heart to Heart (beak) punch
Other tools: Scallop Circle Die, and 4" circle
Cardstock: Whisper White, Green Galore, Orchid Opulence, Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange, Pretty In Pink

Have a great weekend!!

Thank Goodness For Punches!!!

Punches have saved me on more than one stamping occassion. They got me through several baby showers when I didn't own a baby stamp set!! And today they helped me create a St. Patrick's Day card without a St. Patrick's Day stamp set. Now, using the hearts to make a shamrock isn't my creation. I've been it around on blogs for a couple of years. It was filed away in my brain for a day like today!

Now, making my own colored glitter might be my own creation, I some other stamper has thought about this by now, I'm sure??? I dunno. I was originally going for a mixture of different green glitters, but as you'll see in the video I accidentally dropped TWO drops of reinker instead of one into my glitter--so it all ended up the same color. Anyway, it still worked out great.

I had to cut over 3 minutes from the video, so you might notice some chopiness. I hope you stil enjoy it :)

Graduation Card

This is a card I made for a friend of the family that graduated from High School. I used the owl punch idea from Dawn's Stamping Thoughts at www.dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com
and I got the grad cap idea from Yvonne's Stampin Place at www.yvonnesstampingplace.com

I used some very old number stickers to make my year 2009. I just stuck them on the cardstock and used the 3/4" circle punch to center and punch it out and 1" circle punch to layer.

The Delinquent has returned!

Wow! I can't believe I haven't a whole month has passed since I posted! I've been busy--but not too busy to stamp!!! LOL! Just too busy to take pictures, I guess.

So, today, I took pictures of a bunch of cards I made and filmed a tutorial. I've got to edit the video and then I'll post it.

Until then, here is a photo for you. This is a onesie invitation my friend and I made for another friend's baby shower. We made over 40 of these things!!

I also made a diaper cake for my friend, but unfortunately, I didn't take a picture :(

I'll have more Stampin UP cards for you tomorrow!

Baby Shower Invitations Using Punches

These are the baby shower invitations I made for the showering we're having for the pastor's wife. These are just regular 4.25 x 5.5 invitation size cards. I used the 1.25 inch circle punch to punch out the neck and legs. And I used the craft knife to cut the arms and sides of the onsie. To make the blue edges of the onsie, I punched a 1.25 inch circle in blue cardstock and then used the 1 3/8in circle punch centered around the hole. This makes a blue circle ring. I then glued it to the edges and trimmed as needed. I cut 1/4" wide strips to make the edging on the arms. Then I used the white gel pen to make faux stitching. I used the large star punch for decoration. Hope you enjoy it

Baby Lamb card and paperbag album

Just a quick post today because things are still busy here, plus I'm recovering from being sick for 2 weeks (and now am nursing my sick dd). Anyway, remember how I said my friends are all getting pregnant?? Well, Friday was a baby shower for one of my friends. Part of my present to her was this paperbag album and matching card. I used SAB certainly celery ribbon, the top note die, the grass stamp from Inspired by Nature, and the scallop circle and 5 petal flower punch (to create the lamb). The rest is a hodge podge of stuff I already owned before joining Stampin' UP. I hope you enjoy it. Sorry I didn't get more pictures of the inside and all the tags. I took this picture as I was walking out the door! I'm such a procrastinator!! Tomorrow I'll share pictures of the Baby Shower invitations I made for another friend. Take Care!

Sesame Street Punch Card

My daughter's friend turned 18 and we made her this card. My daughter is giving it to her with some big girl pants--Pull Ups. Then, she's giving her the real gift :) Anyway, this was a really easy card to make using the Scallop Punch and different sized circle punches. The greeting is a Chit Chat rub-on. The other part of the rub on is on the inside. "Birthdays are awesome. And so are you!" I LOVE<3>

If you like this card, make sure you sign up for my Feb. & March punch classes that are free with a punch purchase. And you'll also get a free punch class by mail if you order a punch online.

Baby Card

Life has been busy and I haven't posted for a few days. I went to a baby shower today for a dear friend. I can't wait til her baby arrives. Then, three more of my friends will have babies by the beginning of summer. It's gonna be exciting!! I can't wait to hold these babies :) I love the smell of a baby. Is that weird?

Anyway, I never thought I'd be making baby cards with my own children so grown up, but not at the baby age. So, I don't have any baby stamp sets. But I was able to use our punches to make a card. I love SU Punches!! This card was inspired by one on SCS.

Valentine Penguins with punches--PUNCH CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT

Hey, everyone! Sorry I never posted a project yesterday. Here is a card that I worked on Monday. Isn't it cute? Inside, I stamped the greeting from A Happy Heart, it says "Wishing you a happy heart." I found the penguin idea from Dawn Olchefske's site. Anyway, these were fun to make :) The eyes of the penguins are from the new heart to heart punch. You're going to see this punch used a lot in making little characters. I've seen the hearts used for boots on an elf! So, it's not just hearts!!! Stampin Up punches are the best!! So versatile!! I'll be showing you some more things with punches next week.

I am starting a PUNCH CLUB at the end of Feb. It's free! You just have to purchase a 15.95 punch each club meeting! The same is for my online customers. If you purchase a punch from me ANYTIME, I'll send you instructions and paper pieces for creating the club projects from that month.

Fall Sunflower Card

This is a card that we made on our Thursday Fall Card night. We covered the SU brayer in burlap and rolled it on the So Saffron card base to give it texture. The sunflowers are made from the Circle Scallop Punch, but each petal is cut with scissors to make a deeper petal. We used the 1 inch circle punch on chocolate chip cardstock for the sunflower center. The leaves are Old Olive folded in half and run through the SU Crimper at an angle and then cut into a leaf shape. The Old Olive strip on the side was decorated using the SO Swirly wheel with Versamark ink. Then we used the sponge daubers to age all the pieces. It was so easy.

Hope you enjoy this.
